Meet the Founders
Rachael Green
Aquatic Specialist | Certified Aqua Stretch Practitioner | Adaptive Surf & Reiki Professional | Former Senior Carer & Aquatic Fitness Trainer
Rachael Green is the founder of Aqua Health & Well-being and a dedicated aquatic specialist with over a decade of experience. Her journey began at Ladies' College School in Guernsey, where she taught swimming to children of all ages and abilities. Through this work, she witnessed first-hand how water builds not only physical strength but also emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
This early passion led her to pursue a career that bridges hands-on care and specialised aquatic practice. Rachael has served as a Senior Carer, supporting individuals with a range of health challenges, and as a personal trainer in swimming and aquatic fitness, helping people stay active and strong in safe, supportive environments.
She is a Certified Aqua Stretch Practitioner, delivering targeted, hands-on aquatic mobility techniques that provide relief from pain, stiffness, and restricted movement. As a qualified Reiki practitioner and Adaptive Surf professional, Rachael offers holistic, inclusive experiences that blend physical movement with emotional and mental well-being, creating welcoming opportunities for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Through Aqua Health & Well-being, Rachael has established a space where people of all ages, abilities, and health conditions can experience the transformative power of water-based therapy and movement. Her work is rooted in care, expertise, and a deep belief in water’s healing potential.
Sarah Rive
Clinical Lead & Senior Occupational Therapist
Sarah Rive brings over 20 years of clinical experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist and healthcare leader. Her background spans the NHS, local authorities, and independent practice, where she has supported adults with physical disabilities through recovery and rehabilitation.
Sarah's expertise includes work in Rehabilitation, Acute Medical and Surgical wards, Emergency Departments, and Intermediate Care Settings. Throughout her career, she has observed the limitations of traditional, short-term and siloed care models, which often fail to deliver lasting, meaningful outcomes for patients.
Motivated to create a more effective and empowering approach, Sarah co-founded Aqua Health & Well-being to integrate her clinical expertise with the healing properties of water. She leads the specialist Aqua Function service, which blends occupational therapy with aquatic mobility work to support long-term well-being, resilience, and independence.
Together with Rachael Green, Sarah has built Aqua Health & Well-being as a place where clinical excellence meets holistic care, changing the way recovery and rehabilitation are delivered on the island they both call home.
Why We’re Different
Together, Sarah and Rachael combine aquatic expertise with clinical healthcare knowledge to offer a truly holistic, person-centred approach. Every service provided is designed to help you feel stronger, move better, and live well, with the support of qualified professionals who care.
Our Story
Two women. One shared belief: that water holds the power to change lives.
Aqua Health & Well-being was born from the coming together of Sarah Rive, a seasoned Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience, and Rachael Green, an aquatic specialist and advocate for holistic well-being.
Sarah, with her deep roots in the medical world, had spent years inside the healthcare system, witnessing first-hand how patients were often left with fragmented care. She saw people fall through the cracks between services, offered short-term fixes but rarely supported in long-term recovery and true well-being.
Meanwhile, Rachael had carved her path through the world of aquatic fitness, adaptive surf, and hands-on care. A natural carer and holistic thinker, she found that water provided something extraordinary, a place where people of all abilities could move, heal, and reconnect with themselves in ways that land-based therapies couldn’t offer.
Their paths crossed, and they quickly realised they shared the same vision: to create something better. A new kind of service that blends the best of clinical expertise and holistic, movement-based therapy. A place where health isn’t treated in pieces, but as a whole. And where water is the medium that makes it all possible.
Both deeply connected to Guernsey, the island they call home, they took the leap, leaving behind traditional models to create Aqua Health & Well-being. It was a risk, but one they believed in: to bring real change, build something meaningful, and help people of all ages and abilities access the healing power of water.
Today, their combined passion and expertise is helping to reshape what health and well-being can look like on the island and beyond.
