Surfing
Approximately five years ago, I rediscovered surfing after twenty years. During my teenage years, I embraced the sport with friends, revelling in the fearless joy and the liberating energy of the waves. The feeling of freedom was unparalleled.

Motivated by this new found passion, I encouraged my eldest daughter to get out surfing, witnessing her thrive and develop a surfer's spirit. Wanting to share in this experience, I expanded my board collection and now enjoy the surf alongside both my daughters. The beach-surf connection we've cultivated is something I cherish deeply.
Driven to enhance my skills, I committed to honing my surfing abilities. Over the past five years, I've found immense enjoyment, a sense of accomplishment, and sheer fun in riding the waves. This desire to incorporate surfing into my teaching led me to pass local exams for surf instructing and lifesaving in 2023. My first season teaching surfing in Guernsey was incredibly rewarding, with highlights including teaching athletes during the Island Games, all women's surf sessions and working with people with learning disabilities.
While I acknowledge I'm not the best surfer and have faced a few injuries, I've discovered a coaching talent. Assisting people in the water has taken my teaching journey to new heights. I now harbour a genuine passion for helping individuals overcome their aquatic challenges and achieve their goals, whether it be in the water or the vast expanse of the ocean.
